It’s rather funny how much my grandmother and mother tried to get me to try cooking when I was younger. I enjoyed it but gosh darnit, how I wanted to run outside, draw, read, watch tv, play with my toys, play on the internet, etc. Anything but stand in the kitchen! But, oddly enough, when they did capture my attention long enough TO cook, I enjoyed it!
Fast forward to many years later, and here I am! I will admit that I was not a big fan of cooking for the longest time as I lived by myself and cooking usually meant a ton of leftovers that made me over eat. Though, settling for my alternative didn’t help me either! I would order fast food, eat frozen meals, etc. because they were easy and convenient. It never hurt my waistline until I got my call center job. Oh boy, did sitting 8 hours a day HURT when I was eating junk.
Well, when I stepped on the scale and saw my weight (which will remain anonymous) I decided ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, and decided from that day forward that I would spend my time getting healthy and cooking myself meals. However, most recipes I found were quite expensive. I can hardly afford the top brand of cooking equipment, I live in a studio apartment with a barely-there kitchen, and I am still only feeding myself. That drove me to create this site. A website for people who 1) like to cook 2) are on a budget and 3) only have one or two mouths to feed.
